Wow didn’t know how cool this video was and how much the cause needs to be reawakened!!!
Midnightrabbi wants us to make a “music 4 youth” Unity concert, with special guests T.B.A.
Rabbi Goldsmith is once again hosting youth music concerts to promote good self esteem among Israeli youth and anglo students in Israel. Past performers include Lazer LLoyd, Ari Lesser, Yosef Dainel, Hamakor, Yosef Karduner, Shtar, Boruch Vidal, Avraham Pilcer, Az Yashir, , Hello Sid, Sam Fisher and other young enthusiastic top class musicians.
The Unity of the Bands was so successful, it is returning again for the new school year at a new alcohol-free club for youth The Bet Shemesh Educational Center. Rabbi Goldsmith spoke on Israel National Radio’s The Beat about how music can positively influence young adults to change for the better.
INR: So tell us who you are and how you became the Midnight Rabbi
Rabbi Goldsmith: I grew up in London and have been in Eretz Yisrael for ten years. I’ve seen from being in a few different yeshivas like Ohr Somayach the importance of music - especially me being a baal teshuvah and being involved in London in the music industry. My family, Harvey Goldsmith and my father Martin Goldsmith put on big events. I would see the effect of the music industry had on the youth. I wanted to be a famous rock singer at one point when I was a teenager. I won a “battle of the bands” in London. I’m still close to those guys because music has a bonding effect.
INR: What was the name of your old band?
Rabbi Goldsmith: Common Ground. It was about unity even in that world. But now the boys are coming to yeshiva not just for music but for spiritual reasons. So it can be a spiritually defined purpose. The music has the power to combine the physical with the spiritual. I see that with the bochurim [yeshiva students]. It brings out their self esteem and togetherness.
INR: What were your father’s big events?
Rabbi Goldstein: He helped do Live Aid. There’s an interesting hashkacha pratis [Divine guidance] story about someone else who’s been helping - Jeff Pulver. My dad arranged to get him into the Led Zepplin reunion concert at Royal Albert Hall. Personally, I don’t listen to their music and don’t think their a good influence on the kids at all. Jeff Pulver likes them very much, and he’s a good guy, so the hashkacha pratis is that even from such a place, he ended up contributing a decent amount of money to the studio the boys have been using.
It has a drum kit, piano, amps speaker system and even rebbes have been using it to speak their drashas on. Even though the kids are unfortunatley drawn to this type of music, especially the rap world, when they come with the right intentions, and inspiration, they elevate this type of music. It’s an amazing thing and that what it was at Unity of the Bands.
INR: So why do they call you the Midnight Rabbi?
Rabbi Goldsmith: A few years back I was walking around the street late at night and was surprised to see how many young people were out there. I was learning full time and was learning very shtark [to appear to be religious]. I thought there needs to be something done in the kiruv world late at night. So I asked my wife and she agreed that I should pursue this. The first yeshiva was Netzach, where they called me the X-Box Rebbe because I used to see them where they used to play the video games late at night. Then it ended up Ner Yaakov which offered me an even later position, so they called me the Midnight Rabbi. So it came from the boys themselves. The idea was for me to come late at night.
I remember this one student, his first month or so in yeshiva, he used to come back drunk out of his face. Last year at an end-of-the year party, he told me he thought maybe he was having hallucinations because every night he would find this rabbi that he could sit and talk with about deeper things. And every morning he would wake up — well not really in the morning, maybe in the afternoon — and he would say, “Did I meet a rabbi last night? I can’t remember.” It made a deep impression on him and the whole year we had a good connection.
INR: Do you actually like rap and rock?
Rabbi Goldsmith: For me personally, I don’t think any of this music is ideal. I don’t listen to it in my own house. But my strength is from my past because I can bridge these gaps when I talk to them. At this point that’s where they’re at. I’m more just a stepping stone. I can’t be the end result. It’s about elevating the sparks with real content and the musicians themselves being real Role models for a honest true future!
INR: When is your next event?
Rabbi Goldsmith: hoping with your help to begin 5774, 2013-14 with some new shows and some new surprise guests T.B.A. like
Ari Lesser

R.I.p to all of the fallen soldiers of Israel, and all the other victims of terror we are thankful for the sacrafice you have given.
INR: These concerts are for 16-19 and more year olds?
Rabbi Goldsmith: Yes. They do a good a job, they did a lot of the groundwork this age group in the past. My goal was to get these guys to run their own events and make them independent. We’ll see from U Muse, which stands for Youth 4 Music, that the youth themselves have the power to lift up all their friends and family. I don’t see that style of music as the goal, but it’s definitely a big step for the world to get to a more spiritual place. The lyrics represent a more positive message.
INR: Do you have any final words about your projects?
Rabbi Goldsmith: I appreciate your interest. Really what you’ve done for the boy’s self esteem, it will help them for the rest of their lives. You have a big mitzvah.
And it’s time wake up and begin the new year with some new shows…!!!!ASAP contact Eli

“And Hashem spoke to Moshe so to speak: Speak with Aharon and tell him: ‘When you bring up the lights towards the front of the Menorah you shall light seven candles.’” (Bamidbar 8:2)
Rashi asks why the verse uses the word B’haloscha, which means “when you bring up” the lights. This is an interesting way of saying that Aharon should light the Menorah. Rashi explains: “And more have our sages taught, that from here we learn that there were steps in front of the Menorah on which Aharon stood when shining the Menorah.” Rashi’s usually writes, when citing the opinion of our sages, that “some say this or that.” What does Rashi mean by saying “more have our sages taught”?
There is much to be learned from this verse. We have just finished a seven-week countdown to Shavuos. Each week, we focused on rectifying and perfecting one of the seven midos (spiritual attributes). A person may think that now, after Shavuos, he is perfect and he no longer has to work on himself.
This verse is telling us that a person should never think he is perfect, or that he has achieved spiritual perfection. A Jew must always continue to grow, to go forward and gain new heights in spiritual fulfillment.
“When you bring up the lights… you shall light seven candles…” Even after you’ve already lit the seven candles, and you have already “brought up” the seven spiritual attributes by working on yourself to become better in all seven midos, you should remember that your work is not finished. This is why Rashi says: “and more have our sages taught.” Our sages are letting us know that there is still more to work on. “There were steps in front of the menorah… when shining the Menorah.” Even if you’ve already lit the seven midos, you can still shine even more. You can continue to grow higher in more areas of avodas Hashem. There is not limit to the greatness you can achieve when you continue taking one step at a time to reach the spiritual light of Hashem.
In the merit of striving to reach higher levels of avodas Hashem, may all who are in need of a refuah merit a full recovery, and those in need of nechama should be fully consoled. May we all merit greeting Moshiach speedily in our days, Amen. Moshiach NOW!!!
THE GUIDE FOR HUSBAND WIFEY HAPPY!
A Midnightrabbi inspires spiritual guide to make a practical difference!
Posted this for R’Moshe Weinberger inspires me everyday
Chag somayach and hope we can bring this holyness into every day life
Eli Goldsmith Thank G-d we have Rav moshe Weinberger to teach!!! Midnightrabbi inspired

HAPPY WIFEY, HUSBAND TOO, THE SPECIAL GIFT AND GUIDE, AND KITCHEN COUNTERS TOO!
Encounters with the kitchen counter again!
We already established in a few different ways what counts to help make Husband, Wifey happy, however we didn’t count on the numerous ways to stimulate the kitchen counter to get clearer and thrown our Husbands way. So let’s get it straight with clarity and apply the crucial lessons we just heard recently by our Husband from the infamous Rabbi Manis Friedman shlita. Did you know this special Rabbi has a brother that has brought more happiness to Wifey than almost anyone with his songs, “Avraham Fried” (just look up the Google haDor and see the story that they really are brothers). The importance of happy song and soul filling Wifey’s home time, cheering on Husband’s newly focused time, with her can’t be underestimated. Then there’s an important theme that needs private sessions on either from your close Rabbi, Guide or if you’re fortunate enough Rabbi Friedman himself. Either way we all know the desires that function in a home which are really gifts to continue on the population and reproduction of an intimate love that is beyond explanation. This is not a book for deep reflections on this subject, however, really realizing how caught up our Husband can be on having his needs met and not allowing the true spiritual focus of the oneness of their soul! Our Husband wants food, service and sole focus, when really Our Husband really needs to give food; service and soul focus on Wifey. It’s a funny paradox of this world and testing ground to whose really spiritual and it all comes out to its full beauty with Husband, Wifey happy. How many times did our Husband wind up Wifey with his incessant needs? Causing Wifey to lose her cool and equilibrium, the messy kitchen counters ends up being emptied at her Husband and our Husband wishing he’d just kept his focus while picking up the crumbs and broken pieces on the floor. The inner message is not the reactions of our Husbands fallen head space, but rather a wakeup call to really be aware of what he’s in the world for and our Husband’s responsibility to Wifey. The deep respect our Husband has for Wifey as a special person, deserving a gentle touch and kind voice. Searching for her needs that brings to life the importance of Wifey is his first priority. Respecting the true need for her womanly space, rest and recognition as a real person!

The scroll of Rus is about a woman who decided to convert
to Judaism despite the challenges. She pursued her goal and
excelled. From Rus the convert, our redeemer will be born. A
very impressive story, but why do we read about Rus on
Shavuos?
Towards the beginning of the 1900’s, when the situation
in Russia worsened for the orphans, the rest of the Jewish
nation began seeking methods how to bring them out of
danger. A representative of the committee heading the
campaign decided to go to the Rabbi of Ger and the Chafetz
Chaim, Rabbi Yisroel Meyer Kagan, for their approval. The
Rabbi of Ger agreed to sign his approval on condition that
the Chafetz Chaim, the undisputed Torah leader of the
generation, would also sign. But when they went to the
Chafetz Chaim, mysteriously he outright refused to sign. The
Jewish world was left baffled.
The Chafetz Chaim was pressured again and again, until
the point where he relented and said that the only way he
would sign is if a Jewish court was established and ruled
that he had to! Indeed this is what happened.
When the Chafetz Chaim was later asked to explain his
seemingly strange disapproval at the rescue of these
helpless Russian orphans, he replied, “Rescue! You call that
a rescue? To truly rescue a person has nothing to do with
physically saving them, but rather imbuing them with
spirituality!”
Indeed, perhaps it was because of this statement of the
Chafetz Chaim that led to some of these children being saved
in the true sense of the word. One of those children became
the ‘Steipler Gaon’, Rabbi Yaakov Kanieksvy, the Torah
leader of the following generation. Today, his son, Reb
Chaim, follows in his footsteps.
True redemption is when we are also spiritually redeemed [1].
It is pointed out that there are only 8 verses in the entire
scroll of Rus that do not start with the letter ‘vav’ [2].
Perhaps the reason for this is that the whole story, and all
of its details, combines together to form one big ‘vav’ -
meaning ‘and’. The redemption comes only as a result of the
initial spiritual seeds sewn by Rus.
The first letters of the remaining 8 verses (that do not
begin with the letter vav) have the same numerical value as
the name of the final redeemer who will descend from
Rus: ‘haMoshiach ben Dovid’ [3].
This is why we read about Rus on Shavuos. It teaches us that
the Torah we were given must be observed, studied and lived,
for this is how we will ultimately be truly redeemed.
Have a redeeming Shavuos,
From Dan. <-click here for more and Dan’s great books!

7 books?

Ari Lesser 3 days ago
Bamidbar 10:35-36 is set off by two upside-down נ. In the Gemara (Shabbos 115b-116a) according to Rebbi, those 85 letters are considered a separate book of the Torah. That means that what we call Bamidbar is actually three books (everything before those verses, the verses themselves, and everything after). Therefore there are a total of seven books of the Torah. This is also alluded to in Mishlei 9:1.

THE GUIDE FOR HUSBAND WIFEY HAPPY!
A Midnightrabbi inspires spiritual guide to make a practical difference!
THE BIG MISTAKE/S! A REAL GUIDE YOU WILL ALL SPEAK ABOUT!
This almost a Steven King horror story and if for some holy reason you don’t know who Steven King is, just imagine he’s the King of the Demons exposing all the horrors you can’t even imagine. What could really unsettle this “Husband, Wifey happy” goal of our book other than real disaster style stories which would really be a waste of all our time to write about. The key word is the correct speech or rather positive speech or for lack of and worse negative speech or let’s more nicely say not positive speech!
Our Husband had been away in London fundraising not so successfully for a worthy program for the youth and the culture shock on his return was a lot. The fancy life style of London people had left its mark plus the lack of sleep which kept our Husband somewhat disorientated. Our Wifey was eagerly awaiting our Husbands return with the young rabble excitedly hanging on to her dress. The private cab/taxi with our Husband more successful fundraising companion had ordered to bring them back from the airport had its comfort zone to cushion the change to dusty hot and holy Israel. As our Husband draws close tiredly back to his home in the holy new day of beautiful Jerusalem he leaves the driver with his card and a present of music that he’d been given in London which he was happy to have left there. Our Wifey stands at the entrance of the building smiling and waving as their cab/taxi pulls into the road. Our Husband notices his Wifey is wearing a new shirt which he comments to his companion in the Taxi “wow my Wifey looks like she put on weight maybe I should have never come back lol or maybe it’s just the new shirt”, his companion responds with a laugh and wishes him well and our Husband leaves the cab/taxi, our husband holding his bags and Wifey holding her babies unite.
After a while of unpacking our Husband turns to his Wifey and makes the BIG mistake of his marriage so far, and repeats what he said to his fundraising companion in the cab/taxi about Wifey’s new shirt. So let’s not get into this story of what happened after this improper speech from a Husband to a Wifey, but in short Wifey was devastated, broken, shattered, angry, embarrassed and beyond words hurt. Our Husband had in short transgressed one of the 10 commandments of marriage and called Wifey overweight or fat looking or worse frumpy. As much as our Husband tried to explain, back track, be nice, give presents, and beg forgiveness with cries for help, the damage was done.
The real problem is this wasn’t an isolated incident as our well-spoken and honest Husband had the habit of making one too many mistakes with his speech. Like when Wifey was after her one of many babies, she really was exhausted and our thoughtful Husband decided to compliment her with how stunning she didn’t look. The words he used was to be exact “You look stunning”, but the problem was Wifey in her tiredness knew he meant “not stunning”. Anyhow, we could go on all day and night where our Husband made the wrong statement again and again, it’s better we save you the pain.

Passover At The Jaffa Institute
Over Passover, the Jaffa Institute’s Activity Centerstransformed into day camps where the staff kept the children busy with fun events during their vacation from school. Some of these events included a trip to a puppet show, and a visit to an interactive farm, both of which were enjoyed immensely by the children. Other programs were held throughout the week at each of the activity centers. The Passover camps certainly made the holiday happy and exciting for all of the children who took part in the fun! During the weeks before the holiday, the Jaffa Institute’s Food Distribution Center’s volunteers and employees have packed and delivered a record 2,900 food parcels. We are overwhelmed and proud to see the hundreds of volunteers and donors who rose to the challenge to make this Passover a special holiday for thousands of families in need. The computer in the toilet / bathroom syndrome!
Nowadays it’s become clear the dangers of addictions and addictive personalities. The internet in all circles of society has had an effect on communication individually and communally. The positive goal is to unify the voice of the individual on a global scale. However, as every good Rabbi has pointed out, “it’s much easier to have good relationship with someone far away than a close neighbor.” Even more so a close relative and even more so our Husband and Wifey!

THE GUIDE FOR HUSBAND WIFEY HAPPY! <-
WIFEY FACE TO FACE, THE LATEST GLIMPSE LAG B’OMER 2013

By the way you’re welcome to contribute you’re “Husband, Wifey happy” tales by sending us right now you’re story to our emailumuse613@gmail.com and comments on the “midnightrabbi spiritualguide” Blog.
From distractions to actually look at Wifey face to face!
So anyone might ask themselves if they still even think for a second, why am I so distracted. And what is marriage all about other that full emotional connection, with the face to face truth of the secret of the world. We’re not talking about some commercial rip off version of “the secret”, but rather something so deep and obvious that in a world gone mad is the most hidden secret of them all. The secret is real focus and attention that joins two beings in such a way that only G-d, Himself, could be part of and not distract from this intense binding of two souls into their essential oneness.
The soul filled Husband sat at his table. Professing his profound awakening this Rosh Hashanah (the holy days of the Jewish new-year), he realized as he read “the Garden of Peace” (Rabbi Shalom Arush translation by Lazer Brody on finding peace in your home) during the rather long prayer service of his very high and dedicated Shul (prayer house and congregation). The most important thing to remember is putting his Wifey first. The prioritized Husband knows that no Rabbi, no Job, no Family, no Friend and no other person, place or time must be allowed to feel as more loved than good happy Wifey.
The story telling Husband, pronounces his tale of righteous people who told there sincere followers to always put there Wifey first. Even for the holy days and prayer, to stay at home with the Wifey and pray near their house rather than some far off place with his spiritual leader. As the pious story runs to its end the sound of singing from our husbands spiritual leader emanates through the window. Their Yom tov meal that already stretched into the night due to the late finish of the prayer service already ran the Wifey ragged left with her little ones. And now at the climax of our devoted Husbands story, suddenly the sound of his Rabbi and friends, pulls him away from his table and running outside towards the dancing and singing of Tashlich (the custom at the end of the two days of Rosh Hashanah, is to throw all the previous sins into a place of water and fish, while reciting certain cleansing prayers of Repentance). Wifey is left bewildered and Husband is thinking how good he is with his stories of priorities and finding a Shul and Rabbi right next to where they live. After dancing with the fish and rounding of this joyous Day of Judgment, this fulfilled husband exercises judgment and find himself home late that night. Wifey is crying in her bed and he enters the war scene of dirty dishes and house with the kids thank G-d finally sleeping, no thanks to our Husband. He notices that chocolate milk has been spritzed all over the wall and begins his kind service of cleaning the mess! As the Husband scrubs the wall he sings a song of happiness at how good his focus is, you see the first thing he does is clean up the mess his Wifey is unable to clean.
Wifey gets angrier the more he sings and ignores her broken state and she angrily approaches him. On the way through the kitchen she screams and throws a tub of Salmon juices with bits of fish, he runs to calm her and prevent Wifey from more damage and they both slip and go flying on the Salmon juice. Now there both in a real mess, but wait that’s not even the end of it. Husband’s children have been putting play mobile men in tubs of water imitating the swimming pool they went to in the summer. Husband in his family care mode threw the water down the toilet so there shouldn’t be ANY damage. Unfortunately he mistakenly threw the play mobile men that were still swimming down the drain and blocked the toilet. This is a long story that required much cleaning as some mashugah plumber that has 10 advertisements with 10 phones came and splashed feces and urine all over the house and still didn’t unblock the toilets and expected his pay. 800 shekel to real plumber later and a few tons of washing, finally they were ready, our Husband and Wifey for the forgiveness that only Yom Kippur the Day of Atonement can bring.
A famous friend of mine said to me that the only day of the year he disconnects is Yom Kippur the Day of Atonement, 25 hours off line. And Rav Moshe Weinberger shlita proudly proclaims at a class he gave which interestingly is on a video on YouTube that he’s never been on line or even on a computer, wow. The ability to focus and give our Husband to Wifey emotionally face to face is from the holiest source and will solve all these problems that were depicted above. The amazing ability for man specifically Husbands to be distracted by everything and anything, even more so for those on line. To focus and face your self is such an intense experience especially when Wifey is the one needing our Husbands attention. This feeds and nourishes our Wifey’s emotional need, but our Husband has an unbelievable ability to side line this crucial lifesaving and happy home making goal.
So let’s begin another story where this time our Husband gets it right and doesn’t turn his life into a disaster scene from a movie. Also face the inner holiness within, now read below :-
The Kodesh Hakodashim, “Holy of Holies”, the most sacred site in traditional Judaism, is the inner sanctuary within the Tabernacle and Temple in Jerusalem when Solomon’s Temple and the Second Temple were standing. Traditional Judaism regards the location where the inner sanctuary was originally located, on the Temple Mount in Mount Moriah, as retaining some or all of its original sanctity for use in a future Third Temple. The exact location of the Kadosh Hakadashim is a subject of dispute.

The Kadosh Hakadashim was located in the westernmost end of the Temple building, being a perfect cube: 10 cubits by 10 cubits, by 10 cubits. The inside was in total darkness and contained the Ark of the Covenant, gilded inside and out, in which were placed the Tablets of the Covenant, the Rod of Aaron and a pot of manna. The Ark was covered with a gilded lid known as the “mercy seat” for the Divine Presence. When the Temple was rebuilt after the Babylonian captivity, the Ark was no longer present in the Holy of Holies; instead, a portion of the floor was raised slightly to indicate the place where it had stood. Josephus records that Pompey profaned the Temple by insisting on entering the Holy of Holies.
The Holy of Holies was hidden by a veil, and no one was permitted to enter except the High Priest, and even he could only enter once a year on Yom Kippur, to offer the blood of sacrifice and incense before the mercy seat.
Everyone can be the High Priest and the Holy of Holies is your home and focus with Wifey in your marriage! Our Husband has to believe in himself to make Wifey happy!

Midnightrabbi inspires BS”D interesting and http://soundcloud.com/midnightrabbi-inspiration/tolna-rebbe-the-power-of-the-1
In both lessons this past Shabbat at Chut Shel Chessed, Rav Shalom Arush spoke about the power of Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai. He said that Lag BaOmer is a very great day and on it one can accomplish very great things if they put in the prayer. He said that this day is opportune to achieve both spiritual and physical salvations. Even if one cannot make it to Meron, the day itself is extremely holy and one can pray from any place they may be. Just light a candle and ask Hashem for all your needs in the merit of Rebbe Shimon.
He also gave over a very nice idea on how Rebbe Shimon came to his greatness. He said that the entire time that Rebbe Shimon and his son were in the cave, they were happy and accepted G-d’s mishpat (judgement) with love. Similar to how Yosef HaTzadik was in prison for 12 years and also accepted it with love. Many of us have difficulties and challenges, but if we are upset about them, than it is the same as if we are saying to Hashem that we do not agree with Your judgement. Instead. One should first strengthen their emuna and know it is from Hashem and good, and then one can reach very high levels specifically because of the difficulties.
The Rav also spoke about holiness, specifically guarding the eyes. He said that holiness is the main difference between us and the nations and there is no protection for the Jewish people unless we have holiness, as we learned from the stroy of Bilam. He also said that a man who guards his eyes or a woman who dresses modestly is protected personally by Hashem and has nothing to fear in this world.
Don’t forget to read some Zohar and know that the world right now is in huge need of protection from many many judgements. If you want proof just read:
http://www.naturalnews.com/035789_Fukushima_Cesium-137_Plume-Gate.html
http://www.naturalnews.com/035777_GAVI_immunization_children.html
Rebbe Shimon is fitting to be relied upon in a time of great need and with his sefer (The Zohar) we will be redeemed from this exile with mercy, amen. sent by Yehoshua Goldstein hazakweematz@gmail.com.

Midnightrabbi inspires Good week my righteous friends, it displayed in all your kindness and support , from Midnightrabbi inspires aka eli
The Middah of Yesod, Foundation. PART FIVE in a Series on the Seven Middos of Sefirah
Yesod is the third of the four middos we use to interact with the environment. Netzach gives us the ability to conquer and overcome; Hod to blend and submit. Yesod tells us how to use which so that we are able to recreate ourselves in our children and students, thereby becoming the foundation for the future generations.
The most awesome power which a person possesses, the ability to physically procreate, is rooted in Yesod. However, the primary way of ensuring that future generations will continue in our path, is through spiritual procreation. In order that our children and students be able to absorb our legacy, we have to expertly balance the Middos of Netzach and Hod. We cannot overwhelm them with too much information or unrealistic demands, we have to speak their language, but equally as important, we have to be careful not to submit to the mores of the new times and give up of ever passing on our heritage.
Yosef Hatzaddik personified Yesod. With tremendous self-sacrifice, he overcame Potifar’s wife’s seductions, in order to protect the powerful middah of Yesod which behooves us to only procreate in a permissible and holy manner. He was also the master leader of the masses and educator of his children. He knew when to use Netzach and enforce laws and how to use Hod to understand the needs of the people of Egypt. He was the only one of the tribes who had to raise children in an environment alien to Torah and was immensely successful in instilling the values of his father to the next generation.
Like all of the Middos, Yesod is complex and we only lightly scratched the surface. Next week we will finish this series with the middah of Malchus which is the most fascinating yet difficult middah to understand and explain.
